Students in the M.A. program gain professional experience in literature and writing careers by tutoring in the University Writing Center, teaching their own sections of CSUSM's GEW (General Education-Writing) course, and assisting LTWR faculty with scholarly research projects.

Research Assistantship opportunities occur on an irregular basis and are usually announced by open calls from faculty members, so check the graduate student listserv and your CSUSM email account regularly.
