College of Business Administration
Students in the College of Business Administration must complete a Senior Experience project. Working with area businesses and non-profits, students have been responsible for diagnosing the causes of an accounting problem or an information systems problem, evaluating possible solutions and implementing the chosen alternative. other students have conducted a feasibility study or written a business plan for producing a new product, entering a new market, or building a new facility, as well as analyzing manufacturing processes, customer service workflows, or human resources programs.
College of Education
Don’t just read about teaching in the classroom - do it. Students in the College of Education engage in a field component that ranges from two hours of classroom observation and critique weekly to a five-hour weekly practicum. During their final semester, students are teaching several periods a day under the supervision of a master teacher and a university supervisor. In addition to a standards-based content education and exposure to faculty actively pursuing current research, you’ll gain valuable on-the-job experience.
School of Nursing
If you’re a student interested in the School of nursing, get ready for a hands-on experience. The program provides an upper-division professional major for graduates of associate degree programs and a basic nursing curriculum for first-time freshmen.
College of Arts and Sciences
At some point in your academic career at Cal State San Marcos, you’ll most likely take a class in the College of Arts and Sciences, the academic heart of our University. In fact, well over 70 percent of our students will take a course in the College, whether it’s through degree programs or in general Education courses. The College of Arts and Sciences currently offers 21 Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree programs, 31 minors, and eight Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degree programs. The College of Arts and Sciences also is home to the University’s general Education program, which serves all undergraduate students with a solid foundation in the liberal arts. What does this mean to you? It means you’ll not only have in-depth experience in your major, you’ll cross interdisciplinary boundaries for a well-rounded experience like none other.
