Rancho Buena Vista High School (RBV) continues to be a
vibrant partner in the CAPI project!
Student Involvement with CAPI
- Seven (7) classes (approx. 245 students) used the
OWL this year to receive feedback from CSUSM students on a wide range
of writing projects, terms papers, and college entrance essays.
Faculty Involvement with CAPI
- During the 2000/01 academic year, faculty worked
with their district to design a college-prep course in writing
consulting;
- Faculty invited Michelle Mullen and Dawn Formo to
lead a workshop on responding effectively and efficiently to student
writing;
- Faculty also worked with the CAPI consultants to
design a mini-writing center in the RBV library;
- Ms. Neumann and Ms. Golly attended the Summer 2002
Writing Center Workshop; and
- Several faculty completed the CSUSM CAPI courses
for English teachers.
Writing Center News
- RBV launched its first peer-facilitated Writing
Center in the fall of 2001 under the direction of Ms Neumann and Ms.
Golly. This Center has since replaced the need for CAPI writing
consultants. That’s success!
Future Plans
- RBV looks forward to developing the campus Writing
Center further and expanding its service to the RBV community.
