English-Language Arts Content Standards: The State of California has
established Standards for K-12 instruction. You might be interested to
know the goals of each grade level.
Diagnostic Writing
Service (DWS): The California State University System has designed a
writing service to help identify your strengths and weaknesses as a
writer. You are encouraged to use DWS at least once during your junior
year and once during your senior year in high school. CAPI will cover the
nominal cost for CAPI participating schools. Let your teacher know that
you are interested.
SAT Preparation: A wide range of SAT test preparation
courses/resources are available online. You may want to begin your
research of such sources by visiting

Educational Testing Service (ETS):
ETS is a leader in educational testing
and research. You and your parents may find ETS’s discussion of the
California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)
and of the CSU English and mathematics placement tests (EPT
and ELM) useful.
