CAPI Teachers Program
This section of the CAPI website is designed as a
resource for teachers in the CAPI program. In addition to a faculty
discussion web, news and updates about the CAPI English program, and an
electronic directory of participating CAPI faculty, teachers, and writing
consultants, this site also provides teachers with the means to
book electronically:
Diagnostic
Writing Service (DWS)
This service is not a test! The California State University System has
designed a writing service to help identify your students’ strengths and
weaknesses as a writer. You are encouraged to administer DWS to your
juniors and seniors. CAPI will cover the nominal fee for CAPI participating
schools.
On-Site Consulting
Face-to-face consulting in your classroom, campus writing center, or
library. To prepare your students for a face-to-face consultant, you are
encouraged to review "Preparing
Your Students for in-class Writing Consultants." You may also
want to review a
video of a
CAPI consultant working with students (You MUST have Real Player installed
to see this! If you do not have Real Player you will
have to download it).
OWL Consulting
Provides emailed feedback to students in response to the essays they
submit.
On-line writing lab (OWL) Presentations
45 minute presentation introduces high school students
to CAPI and the OWL; available only to participating CAPI English faculty
on respective high school sites
