The Communicative Science and Disorders Option with the Clinical Rehabilitative Services Language, Speech and Hearing Credential Program has been designed to meet the standards of practice established by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC), and the new 2008 standards of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). This program is specifically designed to prepare professionals to serve students in K-12 settings.

We had anticipated admitting our first cohort of graduate students in the Fall of 2008. However, given that the regulations and standards of the three (3) agencies that regulate the practice of SLP’s  -- CCTC, California SLPAB (licensing board) and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) --  are interdependent, it has become apparent that it would be more advantageous for the program and for its graduates to secure accreditation status through ASHA prior to opening.  We currently anticipate opening in Fall 2009.
