The faculty search in
Literacy
Education has been completed. The College
of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Erika
Daniels, has accepted the position of Assistant
Professor in Literacy Education.
Dr. Daniels received her BS in General
Studies from USC in 1994, her M.Ed. specializing in
Curriculum & Instruction from USC in 1996 and her Ed.D.
in Education specializing in Literacy from USD/SDSU in
2004.
Dr. Daniels comes to us from
Oceanside Unified School District where she was
serving as a Literacy Coach this past year. Prior to
that she taught 6th, 7th, & 8th
grade Language Arts at Jefferson Middle School.
Additional experience includes: 9th & 10th
grade language arts teacher at Clair Burgener Academy
for Oceanside Unified ; 6th grade language
arts, science, social studies and drama teacher at
Hollenbeck Middle School and Kindergarten teacher at
Euclid Avenue Elementary School in the Los Angeles
Unified School District; Distinguished Teacher in
Residence at CSUSM for 2 years; adjunct instructor at
CSUSM.
