Come join us this summer at Cal State San Marcos for perhaps the most valuable week of study in which you have ever engaged.  In this week-long intensive Masters-level course, you will join public school and higher education educational leaders such as yourself in learning how to effectively communicate with and motivate those “hard to reach” adults and students.  The course illuminates the research-based and internationally-recognized concepts of Process Communication developed by clinical psychologist, Dr. Taibi Kahler.  As part of the course you will receive a personal analysis of your own personality profile.  Your personal profile combined with the rich examples in  Here’s How to Reach Me: Matching Instruction to Personality Types in Your Classroom will provide the foundation for bringing Process Communication alive and opening a revealing window into your own behavior, words, and feelings and the behavior, words, and feelings of others.  By the end of the course you will have expanded your communication repertoire and developed the competence to adjust your messages in order to connect with and effectively manage each of six basic personality types (i.e., persister/believer, workaholic/thinker, reactor/feeler, dreamer/imaginer, rebel/funster, promoter/do-er).  Using movie classics and lively simulations, you will observe Process Communication in action and practice intervention strategies until you are able to fluidly use them with others in the classroom, at home, and in your daily life.

In addition to the university registration fee, a $110 materials fee is required for the administration and scoring of the self-analysis profile, the generation of a personalized profile handbook, and the provision of other supplementary materials.  This fee is NOT paid to Cal State San Marcos.  Please contact Dr. Judith Ann Pauley at  judy@kahlercom.com or 301-983-8447 with your correct email address by June 21, 2008 for instructions on how to complete the profile and for payment information.  Participants are strongly advised to register early for the course, so that the self-analysis profile may be completed prior to the start of class.  Participants are expected to have read the Here’s How to Reach Me text prior to the start of class.  The text may be purchased from the publisher at www.brookespublishing.com or 1-800-638-3775.
