Making a Tutoring Appointment

You must read the below guidelines.
If you agree, click on the button at the bottom of this page.
- Tutoring is free for all CSUSM students, in all languages taught here.
- You may make up to 2 appointments per day & up to 2 weeks in advance.
- Walk-ins are accepted - but only if a tutor is free.
Appointments are suggested.
- Cancel appointments as soon as possible, so others
can use that time.
- Arrive on time. If you are more than 5 minutes late (by our
clock),
your appointment will be given to someone else. If you are running late,
call 760-750-8058, and we might be able to wait longer.
- If you are a no-show for 2 appointments, you will not be able to
schedule
another appointment without permission from the LLC Director.
-
Come for help with homework, activities, drafts of papers,
test review...
- Come with specific questions or a draft of your work.
- Try in good faith to do as much on your own as you can.
- Be up-to-date with all assignments.
- If you bring a paper, plan to go over only a FEW
specific topics in the
session: a verb tense, a grammar point, a particular paragraph, etc. - Know your CSUSM academic honesty policies and plagiarism definitions.
- Tutors will NOT proofread papers looking for mistakes.
- Tutors will NOT do your homework for you.
-
Tutors will NOT teach you something you have not yet
studied on your own.
-
Tutors will NOT translate papers from English.
-
Tutors will NOT look at work that has been written or translated by
others
or by a computer program. (Such work would be considered plagiarism if
handed in to the instructor. If you are confused, tutors can explain this complex
issue in a private and supportive manner.)
