LTWR Students are a very active bunch! Whether you plan on going
on to professional schools (Law, Medicine, Business), grad school,
networking locally—or just finding a group of peers who will never make you
feel lame for secretly watching Buffy or Jon Stewart—this
is the place for you . . . . Get involved, join in, find your community!
Medieval Round Table: We are a group of students who
enjoy reading dusty old books filled with stories of adventure,
excitement, and plenty of blood, guts, and sex. This active group:
-- organizes campus trips to museums
-- brings famous scholars to campus to talk about manuscripts, lit, and
history
-- screens movies ranging from Monty Python to Olivier's Hamlet
For more information, send an email to the group listserv: medieval_roundtable@csusm.edu

MRT created a "Mead Hall" on campus for last year's Beowulf
Marathon Reading. Join in next year!

LGBTSO: We are an inclusive group offering contacts and
support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender identified students. We also strive to create awareness within
the campus and the
larger communities of north county. Students and faculty can join our listserv by sending an
email to lgbt-request@csusm.edu and
typing “subscribe” in the subject field. Check back for upcoming events. |
Grad Student List: The LTWR grad student listserv
provides a forum for graduate students to communicate freely, discussing
student issues, making announcements, and sharing thoughts and ideas.
Using this list is the easiest way to communicate simultaneously to all
LTWR grad students. If you are a grad student and have not been signed
on to the listserv but would like to join, please send a blank e-mail
with "subscribe" in the subject line to gradltwr-request@csusm.edu,
and you will be added to the list. Once you have subscribed, you can
communicate with the entire listserv by sending an e-mail to gradltwr@csusm.edu.
GRE Study Group:
This group of dedicated, and slightly anal retentive, students
have joined together to study for the Graduate Record Examination, and
to provide some camaraderie as we go through the hell that can only be
known as the "grad school application" process. Most of the hard
work is done in Fall of our Senior year, and then in Spring, we
celebrate and commiserate our wins and losses together. For more
information, post a message to our list: grestudy@csusm.edu.
To join the listserv, please send a blank e-mail with
"subscribe" in the subject line to grestudy-request@csusm.edu
and you will be added to the list. Good luck and study well!
Outreach Volunteers:
LTWR sponsors various guest speakers, evening events, and symposia each
year. This is the perfect group for you to join if you like
planning events, have a pick-up truck, or know how to turn boring classrooms
into magical places on a shoe-string budget! Along the way you'll learn
valuable skills about outreach, make useful contacts in the community,
and enjoy some great LTWR events.
